Vodka soaked gummy bears can get messy very quickly. They are usually super sticky. There is no need to worry about that with this recipe.
Key Recipe Ingredients
You will need Jello-O and vodka for this recipe. I have only tested the recipe using the Jell-O brand and I haven't tested it using any other gelatin. Your results may vary if you don't make the recipe as directed.
Gummy Molds
You will need to use a mold. I like this one from Amazon.
What Type of Vodka to Use
You can use any vodka you like. I recommend using your favorite!
How to Make Vodka Gummy Bears
- Add the Jell-O to the vodka and stir until the Jell-O has dissolved.
- Continue to stir or whisk until all of the Jell-O is completely dissolved.
- Continue to stir until the mixture is of liquid consistency.
- Turn off the heat from the stove.
- Using an eyedropper, (the gummy bears kit I ordered from Amazon includes this) fill the gummy bear molds with the Jell-O.
- Place the gummy bear molds in the fridge for 60 minutes or however long it takes to set.
- Remove and serve!
The gummy bears will need to be stored in the fridge after they have molded. Be careful not to leave the gummy bears sitting out in room temperature for long periods of time.

Lauryn says
I had trouble with this. The vodka wouldn't solidify therefore they didn't hold their shape and became messy. What am I doing wrong?
staysnatched says
Tell me more about what you did. I"m not sure what you did wrong if I don't know what you did and what products you used.
Carrisa says
I too, came out with complete sludge. I followed everything you did except I used jell-o with sugar...but you had only suggested using sugar-free so I thought I could use regular. Could this be why? Thanks!
staysnatched says
It could be. I've only tested the recipe doing exactly what is outlined in the instructions.
Rachel says
Do the molds produce gummies that are actual gummy size? Or are they smaller? The Amazon reviews have me wondering.
staysnatched says
They are the size of the gummies that I've had in the past. I would say yes.
Ang says
How long do you stir on low heat?
Ang says
How long do you stir on low heat?
staysnatched says
Until there aren't any Jell-O clumps in the mixture.
Melissa says
I made these and I think I followed the instructions to a T, but they came out extremely sticky! I put them in a bowl together and now I have one delicious clump of vodka bears. HELP!
staysnatched says
Put them back in the fridge to harden. They will be very sticky (because it's made of Jell-O), especially if let out at room temperature.
Jamie Williams says
When you make these do you put both boxes of jello together or do one at a time...
staysnatched says
Together.
Tasha B says
I to tried these several times and followed the instructions to a T and mine were just gooey every time, they didn’t harden one bit. I’ve been baking and cooking for over 20 years so I did not misinterpret the recipe or the instructions, I had seen other recipes for these and they consisted of more ingredients and putting in actual work, I guess there is no short cuts to this.
staysnatched says
Thanks for sharing. I like the consistency of these and I enjoy the recipe.
Vanessa Waag says
Is it 3oz or .3oz sugar free? I am having a heck of a time finding a box that is 3oz
I found 3 oz in regular. But sugar free has only been .6 or .3
staysnatched says
You measure out the ounces yourself.
Anonymous says
I'm not understanding.
staysnatched says
3oz is correct. Find the boxes that you can and then weigh the contents using a food scale to get 6 total ounces. So if you can only find boxes of 4 ounces, buy 2 and then weigh them.
Vaness says
I'm sorry but I do not understand your reply at all.
staysnatched says
I'm not sure how to say it differently. Weigh the contents using a scale until you reach 3 ounces.
Stefanie says
Whit this recipe the consistency of the gummy is like a normal gummy bear or like a jell-o gummies?
staysnatched says
It won't be the consistency of candy. If you have had jell-o gummies, then yes. Similar to that.
Anber says
This did not work. I followed the recipe exactly and used Cherry and berry blue jello. The gummies stuck to the molds making it an absolute mess taking out and ruining the bears since they stuck to everything. We found putting the trays in the freezer work much, much better. They tasted fine but I most likely won’t try this recipe again.
staysnatched says
Thanks for sharing. I haven’t had this issue. It could be difference in the molds used.
