- Combine the mixture and stir. Add the mixture to the donut mold.
- Bake for 23-25 minutes.
How to Make Protein Donuts Moist
You can get really moist donuts by using unsweetened applesauce in this recipe. It's used as a substitute for butter.
How Many Calories?
These donuts have less than 100 calories, with only 87 calories!
How to Store the Donuts
I like to store these donuts in the fridge so that they don't get soggy immediately. They are best when eaten within a few days because they will eventually become soggy.

Those donuts look delicious. I had no idea that mil coming from pregnant cows could have such a negative effect on our bodies. Like you, I usually consume almond milk.
Thanks for the recipe, will definitely try it out.

These doughnuts look absolutely delicious and so pretty!
Bintu - Recipes From A Pantry says
These looks pretty with the hundreds and thousands added, and no need to fry either
Anya says
I love "healthy" donuts since donuts are usually associated with junk food. So happy for a healthy version - especially if it's void of gluten and dairy.

These sound amazing! Totally pinning for later. I love that you used coconut flour!
Vanessa says
I've been searching pinterest for a protein donut recipe! Most of the recipes had greek yogurt in the icing which i didn't want. Happy to stumble upon yours which has almond milk instead! I even thought about using chocolate almond milk with my chocolate protein powder for a different icing after seeing this. Thanks!
staysnatched says
The chocolate almond milk sounds like a great idea! I may have to create a recipe using this.
Stacey Reyes says
If i used a Almond cashew protein milk with 10 g of protein per serving which would be 8 ounces what would that bring the protein count on this Doughnut?
staysnatched says
Hi. You can enter all of your branded ingredients into the macro calculator of your choice. I recommend MyFitnessPal.
Heather Harris says
So, I tried these with a few substitutions today. I used Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth Protein and a drizzle of honey in place of stevia. Even though I greased the donut pan, my donuts stuck (probably time for a new pan) but they tasted AMAZING, even though the donuts came out in chunks. For the icing, I added cocoa powder and omitted sprinkles in lieu of a generous tablespoon of Enjoy Life chocolate chips. If you're watching macros, I think Lily's makes stevia-sweetened chocolate chips. I portioned the leftovers into individual baggies and dumped one donut into a bowl. Drizzled icing over it and ate it with a spoon. I think I may have to invest in a silicone donut pan so they stay intact.

I need to find my donut pan! This looks awesome! ????
Joie says
How much is your 1 scoop of protein powder? I have multiple kinds of protein powder and they all have a different size scoop.
staysnatched says
It's about 2 tablespoons. Any sized scoop should be fine. I've made this multiple times using multiple brands.
Michelle Lanner says
what can you use without a donut pan?
staysnatched says
You can make them into muffins.
Jen says
What form of stevia do you use - liquid, powder, in the raw? Thanks!
staysnatched says
Hi there, raw.
Dawn says
Just made these and very surprised at how good and satisfying they are!
staysnatched says
I'm glad you enjoyed them!
JL says
Can you substitute coconut flour with almond flour?
staysnatched says
No coconut flour and almond flour do not have a 1:1 substitution ratio.
Kristina says
Your recipe calls for coconut flour, so you do use it or you don’t? Or was it typo and mean you don’t use almond flour cause it’s dense and dry. Got confused ?
staysnatched says
You're right. The recipe uses coconut flour. You can not substitute almond flour 1:1.

These are honestly the best healthy deserts I have ever made! I highly recommend!!!
staysnatched says
Wonderful! I'm so glad you enjoyed them.
Jesse says
What kind of protein did you use?
staysnatched says
Over the years I have used several brands. Now I use Primal Kitchen Collagen.
Rosaura Robles says
I tried it and followed your steps and the dough came out very dry ?? my husband stated it tasted like sand ? any suggestions?? I don’t know what step I missed.
staysnatched says
It’s likely the protein brand you used. What did you use?
Rosaura Robles says
1Rule protein
staysnatched says
I've never heard of that. Over the years I've found collagen peptides protein powder works best for baking. I use Primal Kitchen.
Jesse says
I made these 3 times now. The last time I used unflavored collagen protein, and followed the recipe exactly. They were overly moist, and wayyyy too sweet. I used pure stevia (not blended with anything else)
I wonder what happened? Also, it doesn’t thicken to make frosting.
staysnatched says
I've never made these with collagen. Not sure.
Sakkara Beirre says
Just wondering if you know if I can use coconut oil instead of apple sauce and how much. It's so time consuming to find a dairy and gluten free donut recipe.
Thanks
staysnatched says
I haven’t tried that.
PEPPER CROUSE says
If u use almond flour it’s 1cup + 1tbsp. 3tbsp of coconut flour is 1cup of almond flour. So I just added 1tbsp more.

This won’t pin 🙁

Thanks for the heads up. It's fixed.
