What is the best jungle juice recipe? A good recipe includes a mix of vodka, rum, and fruit juices. The fruit juices are key because they will help mask the taste of the liquor. Very simple!
What is Jungle Juice?
It's a great punch to serve for a special occasion, party, or event because you can easily make 2 gallons or even 5 gallons of punch for a group, and most people will love the punch!
I have always had the juice at parties or gatherings. The great thing about it is, you can't taste the alcohol. This can be dangerous, if you consume too much, so always drink responsibly.
The punch is a combination of fruit juices, vodka, rum, and fresh fruit.
Why is it Called Jungle Juice?
The name is linked to the South West Pacific and World War II. American soldiers used available materials in the jungle for fermentation and flavoring for their concoctions. You can read more about Why It Is Called Jungle Juice here.
Jungle Juice Ingredients
- Vodka
- Rum
- Lemonade
- Fruit punch
- Cranberry Juice
- Orange Juice
- Club Soda
- Fresh Strawberries
- Fresh Oranges
How Much Alcohol is in Jungle Juice
Alcohol accounts for 20% of the punch.
How to Make the Drink on a Budget (Cheap)
If you are looking for a cheap way to make the punch, stick to low-cost vodka and rum. Jungle juice is great for college parties and events, so if you need to save on cash stick to something like Smirnoff or Tito's Vodka.
I love Tito's because it's affordable and is quality vodka. Bacardi rum is also a great budget-friendly rum option. If Everclear is your thing you can use that, too.
How to Make Jungle Juice Not Too Strong
If you are looking for a punch that isn't strong you can always add more juice. You can also use less alcohol.
How Long Do You Let Jungle Juice Sit
I prefer to make a punch this size the night before, especially if you want the fruit to soak in the alcohol. Storing it in the fridge overnight will allow that to happen.
One of the best parts of serving punch with fresh fruit is eating the liquor-soaked fruit from the punch. They can serve as mini-shots!
How to Save Remaining Jungle Juice
I use glass mason jars. You can freeze it, too!

If I do not use the fruit can I make the Jungle Juice tti server the same day?Time
staysnatched says
You have typos in your question, and I'm not sure what you mean. The punch can be made a night ahead.
Will says
Yes, the overnight is just for the fruit to soak up the alcohol.
Davyne says
@staysnatched, she said if she doesn’t use the fruit can she serve the juice the same day
staysnatched says
Not sure. I’ve never tried it.
Davyne says
@staysnatched, you have a recommendation on how much to use for 5 gallon container?
staysnatched says
The recipe is for approx 2.5 you can double and make adjustments as necessary using your judgment.

Is this strong. I would like a strong punch
staysnatched says
It's a very strong punch.
Kyndra says
It wasn’t strong at all. I drank 3 cups of it at my game night last night and wasn’t even buzzed. I’d definitely suggest adding more alcohol. I was disappointed but the taste was good.
staysnatched says
I'm glad you enjoyed the taste. Like I mention in the notes, always adjust to your taste and the amount of liquor you want.
Kris says
Do I have to use club soda ?
staysnatched says
Not if you don’t want to.
Anonymous says
How do you make smaller amount
staysnatched says
You would first define smaller and then reduce the ingredients accordingly. If you wanted 1/2 of the recipe, reduce the serving of each ingredient by a half and so on.
Charlotte Bester says
Hi I would like to make this punch For my birthday in August I was wondering do you use fizzy lemonade or still lemonade ?

staysnatched says
It was still. You can likely make it with whatever you prefer.

This was delicious and a big hit at a gathering! The guys and girls both loved it. It was so much better after the fruit sat in it over night, it tasted like sweet fresh strawberries, so I would definitely make it the night before. I also added extra club soda to make it a little spritz-ier and tone down the sweetness just slightly. My favorite jungle juice I've had yet, and my go to recipe!
staysnatched says
I do that with club soda as well!
Ford says

staysnatched says
I use Simply or Trader Joe’s.
Giselle says
Looks really good! Was wondering how much of the alcohol we pour into the container? In the video it shows she only pours about 2 cups of Rum and then the entire Vodka bottle?
staysnatched says
Here is what is listed in the recipe above. You pour all of what is listed.
1 pound strawberries, sliced in half
750ML bottle of rum
1 gallon lemonade
750ML bottle of vodka
1/2 gallon orange juice
1/2 gallon fruit punch
16 oz cranberry juice
2 oranges, sliced

staysnatched says
Yes, you pour that exact amount listed.
Rissaj says

I used the brands shown in the photos.
Grace Griffin says
How does this make 2 gallons of punch if there’s 1 gallon of lemonade and 1/2 gallon of OJ and half gallon of Fruit Punch? I haven’t even added in the cranberry, club soda, vodka or rum. Can you clarify what to pour in to make 2 gallons?
staysnatched says
I don’t understand your question. You just listed 2 gallons. You pour in every ingredient listed.
Linda Hiett says
@staysnatched, this sounds delicious, and as someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I think I will love it as a non-alcoholic punch!
staysnatched says
Wonderful! I hope you enjoy it.
Mesha says
@staysnatched, Using the ingredients provided, just the juices alone add up to over 2 gallons, so how could the entire punch only make 2 gallons after adding the alcohol?
staysnatched says
The note says over 2 gallons.
Marina Welles says
Does it need to be refrigerated?
staysnatched says
Yes, There's a section in the post that provides details on this.

Made this bad boy for the 4th and it was delicious. Do yourself a favor and make it. All my friends have texted me asking what was that drink I made last night! It was a hit hit 🤩
staysnatched says
haha! I love that.
Tristen Pearson says
Will the pulp from the fruit clog up the dispenser? I have made something similar to this using non-pulp juice, but fresh pineapples and it clogged up half way down. I'm thinking it was the pineapple. I'm wondering if oranges or strawberries would do this.
staysnatched says
No, it's never happened to me. It sounds like this may be an issue for your dispenser though.
Phyllis Kitchen says
How do you keep it cold when you serve it??
staysnatched says
I serve it with ice. Or keep it in a large cooler.
Kyle says
Do you know if the fresh fruit adds a lot to the taste? Wondering if I could make it with just the drinks so the fruit doesn’t get stuck in my dispenser, but can add the fruit if it makes the drink task better.
staysnatched says
The fruit is the best part of it for me.
Susan says
People ask some really dumb questions on here lol

I just made this for our Halloween party. I followed the recipe almost exactly. I had a 1/3 of a bottle of tequila that I added as well & I don’t think the club soda is necessary unless you just want it. The punch is incredible!
staysnatched says
I’m glad you enjoyed it! And yes, the club soda is preference!
Christopher Walker says
@staysnatched,
Wanting to make it for fall oyster roast party. Think it's ok to use dark spiced rum instead of white rum. Thanks!

Convert the measurements based on the drink size you want.
MrM says
You must use grain alcohol and get the total ABV up to 40-50%
Bonnie Jedziniak says
Made it exactly as described. Was a super hit at the pool party. Had a 2 gallon with a spigot which was perfect. I have to admit the soaked fruit was the best part!! This is my go to for all family functions. Even the usual nondrinkers were drinking this!!
