What Type of Wings to Use

I love to use party wings that are already split as opposed to whole chicken wings. Party wings will cook at a more even and consistent temperature. Feel free to use whole chicken wings if you like. You can season the wings with my Dry Rub for Chicken recipe.

Grill Temperature and Cook Time

I cook on Medium, 450 degrees for 20 minutes.

Frozen Chicken Wings

Frozen wings will need an additional 8-10 minutes cook time.

How to Reheat the Wings

The best way to reheat wings is on the grill or in the air fryer. I wouldn’t microwave them. You can use the same cook temperature and reheat the wings until warm.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken wings I used split drums and flats.
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika I used smoked paprika. Either will work.
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the indoor grill, Medium for 20 minutes at 450 degrees. The grill will take several minutes to preheat and will indicate when it is time to add food.
  • Season the wings with the spices and add the wings to the grill once preheated.
  • Cook the wings for 10 minutes and then open the grill. Flip the wings and cook the wings for an additional 10 minutes or until they have crisped to your liking and have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Use a meat thermometer.

Notes

  • Every brand and model of grills may cook at varying speeds. Be sure to monitor your food closely to ensure appropriate cook time.
