Super pressed for time while hosting an event? These mushrooms are the perfect quick appetizer for any situation. They also make a great side dish for lunch or dinner! These stuffed mushrooms use fresh ingredients and definitely rival any version that you can find in the frozen foods section of the grocery store. From start to finish, I was able to whip these up in 15 minutes.
What Type of Mushrooms to Use
You can use whatever mushrooms you like. I like to go for larger size mushrooms because they are easier to stuff and satisfying to eat! I usually use bella or white.
White button mushrooms and cremini mushrooms come from the same species called agaricus bisporus. Cremini mushrooms (also known as baby bella mushrooms) have a deeper, more complex flavor than white ones. White mushrooms are typically mild in flavor.
You can read about the Differences in Mushrooms and Their Purpose here.
What Type of Cheese to Use
Grab any of your favorite cheese. I like to use cream cheese, Parmesan, sharp cheddar, and white cheddar.

Oh I hear you. Turning the oven on during summer is NOT what you want to do.
We are just heading into Autumn here in Oz and it is still stinkingly hot. The thought of anything in the oven is enough to send me into a tizzy!!!!
So these are perfect!!! And who doesn't love stuffed mushrooms! Especially with all those different cheeses in them! YUM

This is truly a life saver recipe. I made this recipe yesterday for some friends that are vegetarians & my hubby who's on a low/no carb eating lifestyle now. I was lucky to get one, as they went REAL fast. Thanks again for a delicious, easy & quick appetizer. Your recipes help me...to help my husband on his no/low carb journey.

So.....I just HAD to make these again and once again they disappeared in no time. I tried the flavored cream cheese and it was really delicious. One of my guests said that no matter what...have to make these EVERY time that we get together. This recipe is easy, very affordable and gives us the option of finetuning the taste to our own. These mushrooms were the first that that I ever made in my air fryer and won't be the last.
staysnatched says
Yay these are so simple and good.
Shannon says

Could these be made without the cream cheese? Or how to soften the cream cheese without a microwave please? 😁

Soften it at room temperature. It may take a few hours depending on the temp.

Jennifer says
Hello! I'm so excited! I'm about to try your recipe.
I'm thinking about adding little pieces of cut up shrimp to the mix before air frying. My question is: should the shrimp be pre-cooked?
Thanks in advance
Jen
staysnatched says
I use cooked shrimp. Ensure the shrimp is not over cooked when you use it, otherwise it will become dry and mushy when you cook it again.
