Key Ingredients
Here’s why each ingredient plays a key role in making this casserole rich, cheesy, and delicious:
- Ground Beef – The hearty base of the casserole, ground beef provides protein and a satisfying, meaty texture. Using an 80/20 blend adds great flavor while keeping the dish juicy.
- Onion – Adds a slight sweetness and depth of flavor to balance the savory beef. Using a small amount keeps it keto-friendly while enhancing the overall taste.
- Garlic Cloves – Fresh garlic infuses the casserole with rich, aromatic flavor, making each bite more delicious.
- Worcestershire Sauce – A key ingredient for that classic burger taste, Worcestershire sauce adds a touch of tang, and enhances the beefy richness.
- Cream Cheese – Makes the casserole ultra-creamy, helping to create a smooth, velvety texture.
- Eggs – Acts as a binder to hold everything together while adding structure and fluffiness to the casserole.
- Mustard – A classic burger ingredient, mustard brings a tangy kick that balances the richness of the meat and cheese.
- Heavy Whipping Cream – Adds richness and a creamy texture while keeping the casserole moist and indulgent. It also helps blend the flavors together.
- Shredded Cheese – A staple for any cheeseburger-inspired dish, cheddar cheese melts beautifully, adding gooey, cheesy goodness to every bite.
- Burger Seasoning – A flavorful blend of spices that enhances the beef with classic burger flavors, including hints of smokiness and spice.
- Salt and Pepper (to taste) – Essential for seasoning and balancing all the flavors in the dish.
- Bacon – Crispy, smoky bacon takes this casserole to the next level, giving it extra crunch and a bold, savory taste that pairs perfectly with the cheeseburger theme.
- Pickles – A game-changer! Chopped pickles or pickle slices makes the casserole taste just like a loaded cheeseburger.

A little labor intensive if short on time but very tasty.
Mary says
Too much cheese. Will try half of the cheese next time.
Keto Mama says
I made this again tonight by request. We first tried it a couple weeks ago and my husband and I both loved it! Delicious!!
Lori Morefield says
This was amazing!
Karla M says
How many calories for one serving?
staysnatched says
It's noted at the top of the post.
Heather says
Hi, I see the nutrition info, but I soon discovered 6g is like a tiny morsel of food. Is it supposed to be 6 oz.?
staysnatched says
Hi there! There are 6 total servings in this recipe. The casserole is cut into 6 equal shares. The nutrition info is per serving, for one slice of the casserole.
Michelle says
Made this tonight, but made cauliflower rice and pressed it into the pan before adding the other ingredients and ???? more veggies without the taste!
Jacqueline Prieto says
Super yummy and very filling. What us best way to reheat? Dont want to ruin it
staysnatched says
I reheat in the microwave.
Cynthia Parker says
I am new to this so i may be missing something but here goes. I thought eating Keto was among other things, eliminating sugar from your diet. Ibhave the Weber seasoning and the second ingredient listed is sugar. Am I mistaken?
staysnatched says
You can substitute the seasoning for something else if you wish. I personally focus more on keto macros and this seasoning is in line.
Melanie says
I always make my own seasoning mixes. Just look at the other spices/herbs included in the already mixed version and mix up a few of your own, skipping the sugar.
Sarah says
Kid Approved! ?? I improvised a bit and substituted a frozen pepper and onion mix for the fresh onion because I had it on hand. But my kids and I LOVED this. (They are going to have to fight me for the leftovers.) Next time I make this, I'm going to make Stay Snatched homemade tater tots with it!!
staysnatched says
I love that! Thank you so much for leaving this review!
Karrie Lockhart says
This was absolutely great.. and I can wing it and it's still great
staysnatched says
I love a recipe you can freestyle!
Courtney says
If I make this completely, can I put it in the fridge and bake it later that day? Or will it change anything? Should I stop at some point before putting it in the fridge?
staysnatched says
I've never done this. I wouldn't do it this way because of the egg and cream. You can always make it first and refrigerate later.
Anonymous says
I have a baby and like to “prep” while she’s sleeping so that when my husband gets home I can just throw it in the oven. Unfortunately life doesn’t let me be in the kitchen very long uninterrupted.
staysnatched says
It's a recipe that is great as leftovers. If you make it before he gets home, it will still taste great reheated.
MELANIE says
You could pre-cook the bacon and complete step two. Those were the things that took me the longest anyway. Once he gets home, you could assemble and bake. Once I cooked the bacon and beef it only took me 5-10 minutes to do everything else.
JJ says
Good recipe, but there is absolutely no way for bacon to cool at 350 for 20 minutes and be cooked. Bacon should be cooked at least partially before adding.
staysnatched says
The ingredients state that the bacon is cooked and crumbled before adding. It sounds like you missed that.
LeAnn says
This one of my favorite new recipes. I live alone so this gives me plenty to freeze and have for lunches or those nights that I only have 10 min. to eat and run. I added a sliced tomato before the last layer of cheese. Hope that doesn't throw too many more carbs to the dish. Love this!
Luke says
I’ve seen a couple different recipes for this, and none of them say to drain the beef after browning. Is that true?
staysnatched says
It depends on if you need to or not. I used beef that didn't need draining. If yours does, then drain it. Use your judgment.
Anonymous says
I actually substituted “real bacon bits” instead of the bacon and it cut my prep time down quite a bit! I can’t stand mustard either so I did ketchup instead. I love this recipe though!
Jamie says
Ketchup is not keto friendly... Contains lots of sugar!
staysnatched says
They could have used a keto-friendly one like the unsweetened brand Primal Kitchen makes.
Jayde says
This was so good... Made this Cheeseburger Casserole tonight for dinner. It did take me a little longer than 30 minutes, but the taste was well worth it. The only changes I made was to add pepper jack cheese in addition to the cheddar, and also added cauliflower rice (as another reviewer posted). I paired this with some garlic broccoli and my boyfriend loved it. Will def make this again.
staysnatched says
I love your additions! Sounds wonderful.
Lisa says
Made this tonight. Doubled the seasoning and omitted regular salt/pepper. Doubled Worcestershire and bacon. Topped it with shredded lettuce, a little chopped tomato and white onion. Tastes just like the bunless burgers I usually get at our favorite bar & grill, so delicious!
Bobbi says
Really really good. I made a side dish of kale and riced cauliflower and it was a great meal. I was really craving a burger and this recipe was just the ticket. I do not think it is labor intensive, just waiting for it to bake was hard, it smelled so good cooking.
staysnatched says
Thanks so much for your feedback!
America says
Made this today and its so easy! I used ground turkey and my husband loved it! It literally took me about 15 min to finish everything and stick in oven for another 15 min.
staysnatched says
So glad you both enjoyed it!
Brandy Lea says
Ohhh man was this ever good! I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes so I've had to make some major lifestyle changes so following a Keto diet is really ideal. I was craving a cheeseburger something fierce and this totally fit the bill! Not to mention, this is picky husband approved!
staysnatched says
I love when I can impress a picky eater!
Laverne Harvey says
Last week a friend told me she makes it with bagged cauliflower, by putting the florets in the oven and roasting them first and using them on the bottom of the dish. It makes it more like Sheppard’s pie. More filling with them added and just as good. I make this at least once a week.
staysnatched says
That sounds amazing!
Amy says
This was so simple and fabulous!
Thank you!
staysnatched says
Yay! Wonderful. Glad you enjoyed it.
Kim says
I don’t have any heavy whipping cream. What are my substitute choices?
staysnatched says
I haven't tested the recipe without it.
Ben says
Can this be made ahead of time? Like. In the morning and stored in the fridge and tossed in the oven in the evening?
staysnatched says
I've never tried this. I assume you can, but it would likely impact the texture some.
sandra says
I will be making this tonight. Using a little less cheese and adding spinach and broccoli but no pick. Thanks for the recipe.
staysnatched says
Those additions sound amazing!
Lori says
Yummy! I added more eggs, bacon and cheese to make more servings. I also added butter to the hamburger mix. A little more fat and didn’t stick. ??
staysnatched says
I love your tips. Thanks for sharing.
Julia Stearns @ Healthirony says
This low-carb bacon cheeseburger with a casserole is stunning. I'm not a talented baker, but I would love to give these a try!
Queen Bee says
This came out delicious! Followed the recipe exactly. Super easy and lots of leftovers. I saw some comment it was too much cheese. When can you ever have too
much cheese? Less would have been dry. And others said “too long to make” No longer than any other meal in fact I felt it was shorter than typical meals on the stove or oven..thank you for a low carb recipe!
staysnatched says
Thank you! I agree with everything you said 🙂
Brandi Keller says
This was my first recipe to try on the Stay Snatched site. It has become a staple in our household since! And so had Stay Snatched!
I always add extra pickles because my husband and I are pickle fanatics. Sometimes I’ll sub in real bacon bits instead to save time. I usually skip the hamburger seasoning and don’t feel like I am missing out on anything. This reheats very nicely and is great for food prep.
staysnatched says
So glad the first recipe was a success!
Jill Roberts @ Wellnessgeeky.com says
This low-carb bacon cheeseburger with a casserole recipe looks so amazing and yummy at the same time. Found your post so easy to follow along when preparing them yesterday. So mesmerized by this. Thanks for sharing!
Sara says
I’ve tried several different recipes for bacon cheeseburger casserole and this is by far my favorite! It’s so freaking good! I added some chopped jalapeños in with the onions for a little kick and more than doubled the bacon because, well, it’s bacon. Lol. Thanks for a great recipe!
staysnatched says
Wonderful! Amazing news. So glad you enjoyed it.
Shanee says
This looks fantastic! Do you know if this can be cooked and then portions frozen to be eaten at a later date? I'm having surgery in a couple of days and looking for some keto-friendly meals I can pre-cook and freeze for easy post-surgery eating.
staysnatched says
Dairy separates when frozen. If you don't mind that, then you can.
Vicky Denaxa says
I'm so happy you had a great time in Greece!! I'm loving your recipes - thank you so much for all you do!! If you're ever in Athens again, I'll love to treat you to some keto moussaka!!
staysnatched says
Awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed the recipe!
Brittani says
So so good! The only thing I changed was that I omitted the bacon; because frankly, I’m baconed out. I paired it with a cauliflower “potato” salad and it was like a keto cookout.
staysnatched says
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cheyenne says
I made this last night and it was amazing! My partner and I are both on keto and we absolutely loved it. Very flavorsome and satisfying.
staysnatched says
I'm glad you both enjoyed it!
Elizabeth says
This was a hit with my two kids and husband. Everyone’s plates were scrapped clean. Thanks for the recipe—I felt that I won dinner last night. I added a little sugar-free ketchup on top of the beef before adding the crumbled bacon. I cooked the bacon and shredded my cheese in the morning, so dinner prep was a breeze. My husband and I had this with kale chips as a side and kids had some oven baked French fries. The cheese amounts were perfect. Delicious.
staysnatched says
Yay! That is so good to hear!
Heidi says
This dish is to die for!! 5 stars!! Bravo!!
Mary says
Great recipe. It has become my family's favorite!! So easy yet so tasty!
staysnatched says
Yay! We love easy recipes.
Kim says
Made this today and it was absolutely amazing! It was easy and quick to make 🙂 I always have bacon ready to eat, so that definitely saved some time. It was nice that the ingredients are so common. I didn't have to run to the store! Awesome recipe, will be making it again!
staysnatched says
Awesome! I'm glad you had everything on hand for the recipe!
Jennifer says
This was amazing! Everyone in my family loved it, even my very picky 16 year old son! Thanks, this will definitely be on our meal rotation.
staysnatched says
I love when you can please picky children!
Anne says
This dish was so good and so easy to make! I was running short on time and didn't include the suggested add ons, but will definitely make this again and try the lettuce, mushrooms, and guac. I didn't have white cheddar so I substituted pepper jack and that gave it a nice kick! Not 100% the same taste, but to me this was reminiscent of a Big Mac. Was a big hit with my husband and it reheated well in the microwave for our lunches the next day. This one is going into my binder of go-to recipes!
staysnatched says
So glad to hear it. Thanks for sharing!
Baltisraul says
Really good and just the right amount of cheese. I used Ted's Montana Grill Seasoning Mix. It's not sold in stores but you can Google it. We keep a jar in the pantry and are always making more to replenish.
staysnatched says
Thanks for this tip!
Stephanie says
What would happen if you didn’t have heavy cream? Anything to substitute it with? I don’t have any and stores are a little crazy right now. Thanks!
staysnatched says
You can try combining 3 parts milk and 1 part butter for the serving allotment.
jenny says
We LOVED this dinner! I had almost everything on hand. No burger seasoning, so I used Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute. I don't even know what white cheddar is (I don't know much about cheese), so I shredded some Kerrygold Dubliner that I had (maybe that is white cheddar; I don't know, but it worked). Also, I added some spinach. Used extra bacon and extra pickles. SO GOOD. My husband couldn't stop raving about it! He misses having burgers!!! Thanks for the recipe!!
staysnatched says
I love the additions! So glad you enjoyed it!
Mamydziecko says
It s more than likely a 9 13 with 2 pounds of meat. That s what I used .. And just to add flavor, I used the low sodium, low carb can of Rotel tomato s. I like that better than salsa and it s not as much sodium.
staysnatched says
Interesting, and no the amount of meat documented in the recipe is accurate.
Shannon says
Absolutely delicious! This was a fantastic meal... I loved that I could do all prep work and then put together when ready! My husband could not believe this was keto. THANK YOU!!!!!
staysnatched says
You’re welcome!

During the quarantine I have been trying new recipes, I believe this is my 3rd-4th recipe of Brandi’s that I’ve tried, and I was not disappointed. I was craving a burger and this hit the spot. I feel like if there’s anything you crave, you can just come to Brandi’s website and find what you want, I guarantee it. My husband who isn’t on the journey of losing weight like I am, even enjoyed it. He was able to make it his own and eat his with bread, just as you would with a “normal” burger. I’ll definitely be making this again. It was not labor intensive for me. As a person who dislikes cooking, the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. The leftovers were even better on the 2nd day.
staysnatched says
I love that! I'm glad you can find what you need.
Mallory says
I made this and followed the directions exactly. It was so disgusting. Even my boyfriend who eats everything hates it. The meat had a very strange taste, I’m guessing it was the Worcestershire sauce? I’m not sure. But this was a major letdown
staysnatched says
It sounds like you had bad or spoiled meat. Worcestershire sauce is used in homemade burgers, restaurant burgers, meatloaf, etc. You are the only person to ever say this.
Michelle says
Craving a cheeseburger without the carbs this is your go to! Easy as heck to make and very tasty in flavor. Great for leftovers.

I love the leftovers!

This is so easy to make and I love doing it for my Sunday meal prep. I look forward to lunch after I make it. Great recipe!!
staysnatched says
Thank you! It's perfect for meal prep!
Rachel Mudek says
Absolutely loved this!! I had a larger casserole dish (9x13) than what was recommended and just added a little less than 1/4 c of egg whites to the liquid mixture to fill it out and that turned out perfectly. I also just served it with a little lettuce and tomato like a cheeseburger salad and it satisfied all the luxury cheeseburger cravings! Even my picky toddler enjoyed this recipe.
staysnatched says
I love a kid friendly recipe!

Having always struggled with weight, I tried this recipe and it was FANTASTIC! I've been working on eating better lately and your recipes take out the guesswork!
staysnatched says
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Kristy says
Oh man this was so good. Excellent flavor, the only thing I’d change is I’d cook the onions first and caramelize them next time before adding the beef. That’s just a textural thing for me. Otherwise it was delicious. Husband said to add it to our rotation.
staysnatched says
