Applesauce was one of my favorite treats as a kid! I loved to pair it with graham crackers and used to dip my crackers in the tasty sauce!
A lot of store-bought applesauce is loaded with preservatives and of course sugar.
There is applesauce with no added sugar, but a lot of times those are filled with preservatives. Can we win at all?!
Well, yes we can. We can make our own at home with the Instant Pot.

From start to finish it took me 30 minutes to prepare this batch of applesauce. Most of the time is spent removing the cores and peeling the apples.

Summer is winding down and soon fall will be ushering in! That means back to school and for us adults it means we start spending a little more time indoors and in the kitchen!

Easy Instant Pot Homemade Applesauce Recipe Tips:

  1. You can use whatever apples you like. I used honey crisp and Granny Smith.
  2. You can also choose to add the apples to the pot with the peels. Peeled is my preferred method.
  3. Allow the Instant Pot to naturally release steam when it indicates it has finished. Apples work just fine in the Instant Pot without a quick release.
  4. Load the applesauce up with your favorite toppings for the perfect treat!

I had a surplus of apples that were on the verge of going bad and was looking for ways to use them up. I had jonagold apples and the apple sauce turn out amazing; sweet with a hint of tart. I added cardamom along with the cinnamon.

Super easy to make and hugely flavorful. I did use a few apples that were pretty bruised, but that didnโ€™t affect the taste or texture.

I just made this today. I used a cup of water, but I think too funny. Maybe .5 cup water next time. Tastes good though and soooo easy!
