How to Make Air Fryer Jalapeno Poppers
Detailed measurements and full instructions can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise.
- Stuff the jalapenos with cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and cooked and crumbled bacon pieces.
- Load the jalapenos into the Air Fryer.
Air Fryer Temperature
I recommend 370 degrees.
Cook Time/How Long to Cook
Cook the poppers for 5-8 minutes.
Can You Wrap the Poppers in Bacon?
Yes, feel free to wrap the jalapenos in bacon if you wish as opposed to preparing them using crumbled bacon. The cook time will remain the same.
Can You Make them Ahead?
The poppers can be prepped 24 hours ahead and stored in the fridge tightly covered and sealed.
How to Reheat
Reheat leftovers in the air fryer on 350 degrees until warm. You can use the microwave if you wish, but it will alter the texture.
Freezer Tips
You can freeze these tightly sealed and covered for up to 4 months.

Instructions
- Slice the jalapenos in half, vertically, to create 2 halves per jalapeno.

- Stuff each of the jalapenos with the cream cheese mixture.

- Close the Air Fryer. Cook the poppers on 370 degrees for 5 minutes to 8 minutes.

Jalapeno poppers are one of my all time favorites!
Lisa | Garlic & Zest says
If you don't have an air fryer, could you just bake them in a hot oven? Should I stick with 375°? For how long would you recommend?
Teresa L Whitehead says
I have made these in my oven for years
Anonymous says
I cook mine for 15 mins and they are just right. Pepper softened and filling bubbly and just right
Adriana says
@Lisa | Garlic & Zest, I bake mine at 400 for about 20 minutes.
Elizabeth says
I've had an Air Fryer on my kitchen wish list for about 2 years now! This recipe is really convincing me that I need to pull the trigger--it looks fabulous! 🙂
Sue says
I finally bit the bullet and bought an air-fryer! It comes tomorrow and I can't wait to try fried chicken, onion rings and I have a bag of home made poppers that just melt in the oven...so here's hoping that this does the trick!!
staysnatched says
Yes! You will love it!
Jemma says
These are such a great idea. I bet the cream cheese is really cooling against the heat from the peppers.
Roxana says
I like stuffed peppers.
Robert Boyd says
Hi Brandi, This sounds so good. I recently purchased an oven that Air Fries. I am going to try your recipe tonight. I love (very) spicy food also. I eat hot peppers every day, literally. When you wrote "Spicy food just does something to me" I knew you were a spice lover after my own heart. Thanks for posting this!
staysnatched says
Hi there! I hope you enjoyed the recipe! And YES I am definitely after your heart when it comes to spicy food. I can eat it everyday!

Autumn Waters says
These were delicious! I did 3 pieces of bacon that I cooked in the air fryer, wish I had done 4 instead (we love bacon). I also added a little garlic powder & cracked pepper to the mixture. Poppers are my absolute favorite!! Thank you for sharing 🙂
staysnatched says
You're welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed them!
Teri says
The small sweet peppers are a delicious substitute for the jalepenos for those of us who don't care for spicy
Deb R says
These were delicious, but I nearly burned my hands off! I neglected to wear gloves while cutting and scooping the peppers. Though I love spicy food, I'm not used to working with raw peppers. I knew not to touch my eyes, but I didn't realize how much they could burn my hands. I can laugh about it now, but it was agonizing!
The peppers we used must have been large because we had to make a second batch of the filling, and we used 4 slices of bacon instead of 2. I think they could have used a little salt, but I'm a salt fiend. Easy to fix at the table. 😉
I will definitely make these again, but with GLOVES ON!!!
staysnatched says
Yes gloves sound necessary for you! It could have also been the size of your peppers that contributed to the heat. Even I forget sometimes though, and removing my contacts at night becomes painfuL!
Melissa says
Can these be frozen ahead of time?
staysnatched says
I would think so, but I've never tried it.
Trevor D says
@staysnatched, YES! I vacuum sealed and froze for about 3 months a batch of these, then thawed and air fried them! Delicious!
staysnatched says
So glad to hear it!
Darlene Powell says
These were absolutely the best stuffed jalapenos i have ever eaten.
staysnatched says
That's so good to hear!
Dustin says
For a little extra somethin somethin, add a bit of raspberry preserves to the cream cheese! OH YEAH! Thanks for sharing!
staysnatched says
I love that idea!
Becki says
I have a bag of real crumbled bacon bits that I put a few tablespoons of in this recipe and they turned out absolutely delicious! So easy! Thank you!!
staysnatched says
That's such a great use of them! You're welcome!
Shannon says
Amazing!!! So easy and tasty!! I made these and the mushrooms for dinner. I had enough mix left from my mushroom( I added crab) and put it in the jalapeño. You gotta try that!!
staysnatched says
That sounds so good thank you!
Brooke says
Yummy! Made chili verde for dinner and had these for appetizers. Followed recipe exactly-and also used some Anaheim (Fresno) chili’s too since I had some left over(Jalapeño was much better). These are quick and easy to make too so for me, that makes it a perfect recipe! Thanks for another great recipe!
staysnatched says
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed these!
Leslie says
You might want to start the recipe with a warning to wear gloves while making these. Maybe I'm the only dummy here, but maybe not. My hands have been on fire for 3 hours. I have cooked with peppers a good bit and never had a problem until now. Just want to try nd save someone from the utter agony I have been in for hours. Thanks.
staysnatched says
If you've made peppers before without an issue, it's weird you are having it now. Perhaps it's the peppers you used?
Amanda S, says
I love jalepeno poppers, and this dish was easy, quick and TASTY!
staysnatched says
This is a great, easy air fryer appetizer.
Semantha says
Winner, winner! So easy and SO good
staysnatched says
Easy and good is what I like!
Angele D says
Very good! I put the leftovers in a tupperware thinking I would have snacks for the next few days. Nope! My husband liked them so much he ate almost all of them! I prefer mine softer so 8 mins was just right for me.
staysnatched says
haha that's how it goes!
Teresa says
Are you sure these macro calculations are correct? 6 oz of cream cheese is already 582 calories. How can a serving (divided by 5) be only 62 calories?
staysnatched says
Yes they are correct for what I used in the recipe. Sounds like you're using a different brand of cream cheese.
Cristina Buckley says
@staysnatched, so does that mean one serving is actually two jalapeños?
Baltisraul says
I made these last night even before I saw your recipe. I made just the same but added a little garlic powder and crumbled blue cheese. For those that would like less heat, place sliced jalapenoe's in a bowel of 7-Up (not diet) for about 20-25 minutes. The air fryer was in use so I baked in the oven 400 degrees for 25 min.
staysnatched says
Thanks for sharing!
Adriana says
Delicious Recipe. These are my favorite! I used to bake them but air frying is just perfection!
staysnatched says
Wonderful! I'm so glad you enjoyed them.

staysnatched says
This is a great one to batch!
Lee Ann Guynn says
There are many recipes for these out there, but this one is hands down the very best! I'll be making a huge batch for the "big game"!
staysnatched says
I'm so glad you like it.
Charlene says
Is the temperature 370 C or F?
staysnatched says
F
Melissa Castrillo says
I needed to make some mummy jalapeño poppers for a Halloween party and I came here for the recipe. I put them in the oven versus the air fryer (because that’s what worked for me since my oven was on) but I will be making the again in the air fryer. Perfect flavor.
staysnatched says
Such a great idea!
JoAnna M says
We make these all the time, however, we add a little raspberry preserves to them.
staysnatched says
That sounds good!
Kira says
Have to leave my review! This is my go to recipe for poppers. Simple and Easy! Thank you sooo much💖
