Which is the best air fryer oven? There are so many brands and models out there, that it really tough to decide which is best.
I decided to test out the Cosori Air Fryer Oven because I have had so much success with my Cosori 5.8 quart Air Fryer. You can read my Cosori Air Fryer review here.
Which is Better Air Fryer or Air Fryer Oven?
This is totally going to depend on your needs. The Cosori 5.8 quart Air Fryer works wonderfully for singles and small families. The basket is square and large enough to fit most meat. Ultimately, if you currently have an air fryer, that isn't a 5.8 quart and does not have a square shaped basket, I would upgrade. I have the Power Air Fryer XL, as well, and I prefer my Cosori, a lot more.
With the Cosori Air Fryer Oven you have a little more room and a ton more features! Check out the features list below. The oven will feed 5-7 people, a great choice for a big family or treating friends at home,
Oven Features
I'm blown away by the things this toaster oven can do. It's an all-in-one appliance for so many different things. It has 12 presets.
- Toast: How to make toast in an air fryer oven, is so easy!
- Bagel
- Pizza
- Bake
- Roast
- Air Fry
- Broil
- Cookies
- Rotisserie: You can attach a whole chicken, will fit 5 pounds. Also great for loins and other cuts of meat.
- Dehydrate: It has the ability to be it's own food dehydrator! Great for making beef jerky, dried fruit, fruit roll-ups, etc.
- Ferment: Proofing bread, rolls, pizza, and dough and to make yogurt.
- Keep Warm
How Does an Air Fryer Oven Work?
It's like a convection oven that sits on your countertop. It has an electric fan that circulates inside to help crisp food at a rapid pace. The results are very similar to deep frying. You can get things like crispy and crunchy fries in minutes.
How is an air fryer oven different from an oven? Conventional ovens work by producing heat from gas or electric. The heat is slowly dispersed through the oven over time. With an air fryer oven, that time is sped up by the use of a fan.
Air Fryer Oven Size
Item Dimension: 20.1*16.5*12.1 inch
Item Capacity: 30L large capacity fits 6-slice of toast, a 13-inch pizza, and a 5 pound chicken.
Cosori Air Fryer Oven Specifications
It's a 1800W and AC 120V, 60Hz. The temperature range is 80°-450°F. The time range is from 0 to 24 hours. It has 5 heating elements and a convection fan.
What's Included in the Box
- Crumb tray
- Air fryer basket
- Food tray
- Wire rack
- Rotisserie fork set and rotisserie handle.
- Recipe Book
- User Manual
Air Fry Basket
The Cosori Air Fryer Oven includes one air fryer basket and it has to go in the middle rack of the oven. This is noted in the user manual. It does not include multiple fryer baskets.
How to Clean Cosori Air Fryer Oven
Always clean the oven accessories, trays, and the interior of the oven after every use. Use a mild cleanser, nothing harsh. The manual does not state that the trays are dishwasher safe.
When making chicken I did find there was a lot of clean up, especially on the oven door. When I open the oven to flip the chicken, the air fryer basket sits directly over the door when you pull it out.
With fried chicken, there are definitely drippings. I do find that with making a recipe like chicken, there's more clean up required than with a standard air fryer. I typically use Air Fryer Parchment Paper with my normal air fryer which dramatically cuts down on the cleaning.

Cosori Air Fryer Oven Notes
The first thing I tested out was my Air Fryer Chicken Thighs. I used the middle rack and the air fryer fry basket. I fried the chicken thighs for about 28 minutes on 400 degrees. I made sure they were crispy enough for me and that they had reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Here are some things I noticed during my first frying.
- The oven gets hot. Always handle the oven with mitts while in use.
- There is a light you can turn on so you can watch the food while it cooks, very cool!
- When cooking something like chicken, it's greasy food, so expect some smoke.
Air Fryer Oven Pros
I like being able to watch the food cook. I love that this thing comes with a lot of features. The rotisserie and dehydrator functions are definite game-changers. The ferment function is amazing too! You can use it for proofing bread, pizza, and dough. And it can also be used for making yogurt.
Cosori Air Fryer Cons
- When you open the oven, the timer continues to run. I'm used to it pausing and picking up where it left off with normal air fryer.
- There's a little more clean up than what I'm used to with a normal air fryer.
Final Thoughts and Recommendations
If you want an all in one machine, this is for you! There are so many things this device is capable of doing. It is much more than just an air fryer or a toaster!
If you have a large family, this is definitely the move for you! One of the most common questions I get from my readers is whether or not an air fryer will work for their family size. An oven is almost always the best solution.
If you have a small air fryer already and you are frustrated, make the move and upgrade!

Stef says
My oven just went out. This would be perfection for me just in time for the holidaya!!
April Huston says
I really like the sleek design and modern feel to this air fryer. I also like the square design versus the oval/circular models. I also really liked the crumb catcher/grease catcher and the array of functions it can complete. I wish it had a bit more space to it, but it is good for a single or small size family so it works.
Sarah says
Love the design and all the features of this sleek oven and for your honest review ..pros and cons. What an awesome addition to any kitchen. !!!
Alexis Perez says
I loved this article and how easy to read it was while also giving me all the info I needed to get me hooked on this air fryer! I especially loved how you pointed out its best for family size! with three boys this would definitely be the go to tool!
Judy K Hudson Matson says
I’m so impressed with how many different things it can do. I had no idea an Air Fryer/Oven could be so versatile! I think I need one!
Matt H says
Great information! I do like the looks compared to the one we have. The larger the better for cooking but then you have this large device sitting on the counter or you have to find a place to store it so it’s nice that it looks good. The only question I have is what kind of warranty does it have?
Lindsay says
@Matt H, after you register it, it’s a 2 year warranty. Wonderful company to do business with.
Anna Bowers says
Boy! It sounds like a DREAM come true..... I use a convection oven, but it is starting to give me trouble. I am Trying to eat healthier and it sound like this would be a great help! I get your tips and recipes and use them in my little 2 1/2 at air fryer but for 3 of us it isn't big enough!
Jane Denison says
I found your article very informative. I especially love the fact that it cooks for a larger family. The fact that you are able to air fryer multiple things at the same time is a plus. Also love the fact the has different functions. That is a big plus.
Patrick Hennigan says
I think I could put an air fryer oven to great use in our house, especially when it comes to frozen pizza and pizza dough. However, it’s hard to beat the ease of cleanup with our 5.8 QT air fryer when it comes to roasting a chicken, pork chops or steak.
Christian says
I have a 5.8 Qt GoWise which has worked well
for a family of 3. I find that the basket interior
coating is chipping though. I am thinking of
upgrading to something with a bit more inside
capacity though and the Cosori sounds like the
best for me.....my only objections (thanks to your
honest review) are that the exterior gets so hot
and that it is a lot to cleanup especially after
chicken. Still considering it though.
Diane L Greth says
I have a smaller air fryer where I get a lot of my recipes from this site. I love my air fryer .
Eliz Wheeler says
Read your review with interest as have been considering the purchase of one. Being a senior, with family grown and gone, think I am going to stick with my regular air fryer for now. Am not looking for a HOT countertop appliance. I might suggest placing a piece of foil or paper towels over the oven door before pulling out a rack with greasy food ~ to lessen cleanup required.
Layon Adams says
I've always been a fan of toaster but with the recent hype of air fryer/oven it's been intriguing to find out more information. Your review was spot on and helpful, Delighted that you hit on all the important of this product. Definitely need this for quick meals for my busy schedule.
Diana Redfern says
I like what I read I do have the XL air fryer I maybe would get the oven because in my convection oven my rolls & other items tend to get to dark if I don't watch them .I just got my XL so I will wait awhile on the oven sounds great though.
Debra McKnight-Schirck says
The light feature is awesome!
Even though there are only 2 in our home now,I love the size & amount of food you can cook because we always allow for leftovers for the next day. Thank you for the great review!
Michael Zetts says
Well done Brandi. I have been considering moving from my air fryer Duo Pro to an air fryer oven. It looks like the Cosori is an extremely versatile kitchen appliance. I particularly like the fact that it will accommodate a 5 lb chicken, a 13" pizza, has a rotisserie and a powerful 1800 watts.
As a senior, with an eye towards reducing blood sugar levels and saturated fat, I really, really appreciate your daily recipe blog. It is the only recipe blog to which I subscribe. Many thanks Brandi
Kimberly E. YOUNG says
Thanks for your review! I have an air fryer toaster oven. My question is can you do multiple techniques in one recipe. For instance, can i convection bake a chicken and then air fry to get the skin crispy? I know this particular oven has a rotisserie part that would do both. My cuisinart doesn't have that option.
staysnatched says
You should be able to.
Evanna R Kemble-Teller says
I really like the larger capacity compared to my Power XL, and that it can be used as a proofing oven for doughs. I would have to pause the timer, if possible, if I were to open door. I will likely be checking this out and comparing it myself to my current Air Fryer Pro.
Gordon says
Great review! This definitely seems to check all the boxes!
Sherry Derrico says
Wow Brandi, sounds like a great Air fryer oven. You can see in the oven without having to open it. That means a lot. And it's roomy inside. I have wondered about the air fry ovens, now I can see how handy they are. Being a single person, or a family it's great!! Nicely done Brandi.
Charletta says
I love all the features, but specifically the ferment and rotisserie features on this air fryer oven. I have the older model of the Instant Pot that does not include the yogurt function. I could upgrade my Power Air Fryer XL to this Cosori Air Fyer Oven and still have the feature I'm missing on my Instant Pot.
Margaret Heinrich says
I really appreciated your thorough critique of the Cosori oven. The multiple presets and the increased useable cooking area for larger quantities were appealing. The option for productive use as a dehydrator was also of interest as I like to do that when quantities of fruit and/or vegetables are available. Thank you for the information!
Diana Lewis says
I love my air fryer! But it is small and sometimes I have to cook in 2 batches just for the 2 of us. So I never use it when we have company. The Corsori Air Fryer Oven would be great for large batch cooking. I like the fact that I can watch the food as it cooks. All in all, it sounds wonderful!
Barbara Jensen says
So much better than reheating pizza in microwave! Love making french fries with mine. 10 ounces of potatoes with only 1 teaspoon oil!
Corri says
I love it! It is so much bigger than the one I have now
Marina Hyatt says
Thank you so much for this review. I like the looks of it is seems more sleek thank the others, I understand the cleaning but looks like it is worth it. I am interested in trying it.
Again Thank you so much for the review.

Lucy says
This sounds great for 2 people living in a small space. So many features but I am attracted to the proofing and air frying!
Phyllis E Driggs says
I like my air fryer, but the over would really be an upgrade for me!
Phyllis E Driggs says
It looks like I could do a complete complete meal in this. Seems like a great upgrade to the air fryer.
Beverly Diehl says
I have had an air fryer for quite a while now and love it. I use it just about every day. When I read about the air fryer parchment paper I purchased those on Amazon at a great price. I usually spray Pam spray in the basket to keep things from sticking but I can’t wait to try the liners. The Cosori Oven looks like something I need. Can’t believe all the things it can do and the fermentation setting wow. What a great price on Amazon with all the things this oven can do! I would love to win this oven. It would be perfect for me being a single person. If I don’t win I will be purchasing for sure. My air fryer is getting wore out.
Lindsay says
@Beverly Diehl, please don’t use Pam spray. The coating is bad for the air fryer. Instead, get a spray bottle and use something like olive oil or grape seed oil. Spray the basket, as well as your foods.
Janet Jones says
Very nice review. It has loads of helpful tips and a wonderful listing of the oven’s properties, uses, and where to buy it. What more could one want?
Richard Repp says
Love air fryers. Having the other features are really a bonus.
Debbey Richard says
Hey Brandi -
This machine looks amazing - I have used a conventional oven, convectional oven but have not used an Air Fryer as of yet - I am wanting to get one but am really not sure which one I should get. I love all of the different features that this has, not sure that I will use all of them though - you stated that you have a Power Air Fryer - so after you have used this oven which one do you prefer the most?
staysnatched says
I definitely prefer Cosori to the Power Air Fryer brand. I will primarily use my oven for reheating cold food and cooking for big servings. I will use my air fryer from small batches.
Jimmie says
Great review and I will put this item on my Christmas list.
Zulieka Porter says
Hi Brandi!! I love your videos. My favorite feature of this air fryer is the capability to see Inside the oven without opening the door stopping the cooking process. I am working on my Brandi Amazon store wish list & of course this was my big ticket Christmas item!! I can smell the bacon & salmon already.
staysnatched says
Ha ha! Yay, I hope you get the items on your wish list.
Bonnie C. says
Very well-though out & complete review - thanks!
Suzanne says
Thanks for the thorough review. If only I hadn't purchased my Cosori 5.8 qt. model just last week! However, I can already see how it would be useful to have more than one air fryer, so that courses don't have to be cooked in batches and held, So . . ..I'll cross my fingers for your give-away!
LindY G Sherrod says
Large, that's what I like I have 5 to feed so I need Large. This sounds perfect.
Cheryl Bieyl says
Toaster oven and air fryer together is pretty remarkable. Also like the idea of the square basket !!
Carolyn Conklin says
I have an older, bucket style air fryer. But all electronics have a life-span and the Cosori blows me away. When my (current) air fryer poops out, I will certainly look at the Cosori. In fact, I have copied out this blog as a before-hand guide! !
Marilyn Anne Schroeder says
I have the Cosori 5.8 also but this one sounds super. When I watch the grandkids and they have their various sports venues it would sure help with feeding them!
Kristi Bondy says
The features I like the most are the Rotisserie, Dehydrate and Ferment settings. We eat a lot of chicken and love the rotisserie style. The dehydrator will come in handy to make fruit snacks and the proffer will be good for making bread and pizza dough.
Paula Newland says
It’s really attractive. The design is so lovely. It’s a must have for my home because I would replace my toaster and toaster oven with this. I own an air fryer but it is too large to keep on my counter all the time which means in and out of the cabinet so I don’t use it as often as I would like. . I could leave this on my counter and use it daily. Wonderful appliance. A must have.
Lynn Rogers says
I didn't even know this air fryer oven existed! I've been wanting an air fryer, but didn't know which would be the best. Now I'm ruined! This looks fantastic! I kept reading your blog and couldn't believe it could do all those things. I don't have a rotisserie or a dehydrator, so this would be great for me. Maybe I'll win! Happy Holidays to you!
Kristen says
Thank you for the detailed review of the Air Fryer oven. There are so many different Air Fryer appliances it can be difficult to decide which one is right for your family needs. I’m on my third. I’ve purchased a couple then ended up given them away. I’m now using the Power XL Air Fryer and really like it. Like you I’m interested in the versatility of the oven. Would love to try this and provide a review or comparison to other Air Fryers. Thank you for your honesty.
ADIDAS RANDLE says
I need this in my life so bad. I have finally purchase my first air fryer (thanks to you ) and I love it. Just like I do my instant pot. Because if your recipes cooking had been so different for me. Keto is great, I'm able to have comfortable good food. And now this air fryer oven is all that is needed to complete my life.
Edna W says
Brandi.. Thanks for the article on the air fryer. I bought one 8qt air fryer last year on black Friday! I have used it a few times but I cannot seem to find the right temp. or minutes or hours it takes to cook my dinner!! I have tried fish in the air fryer, it was awesome and the house didn't smell up!!LOL. I read your article which is very informative, so I'm going to try it again tomorrow!! I will definitely let you know how it turns out!! I have also printed all of the recipes that you have put on your site, so there may be hope yet!! Thank you for all of your time and expertise, it is genuinely appreciated!!
