Cooking ham in the air fryer is so easy and painless. If you have ever baked a precooked spiral ham in a convection oven, you are going to love the air fryer method!
You can even whip up country ham steaks by slicing the ham up prior to glazing and throw it in the air fryer.

What Type of Ham to Use
Look for a ham that's fully cooked and around 3 to 4 pounds. A 5-pound ham would not fit in my air fryer without slicing it down some. The size ham you may want to use will vary based on the air fryer model you own.
If you don't want the hassle of slicing up the ham, look for one that is pre-sliced. You can also decide if you want a bone-in ham or a boneless ham.
I find boneless hams to be more convenient, but with a bone-in ham, you can save the ham bone to make other meals like Instant Pot Split Pea Soup.
How to Bake a Ham in the Air Fryer
Detailed measurements and full instructions can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Combine brown sweetener, honey, and ground cloves in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir until combined.
- Glaze the ham and wrap the ham in foil.
- Air fry for 40 minutes.
- Remove the foil and glaze again. Air fry for 5 minutes.
How Long to Cook Ham in the Air Fryer
I used a 4-pound ham and cooked it for a total of 40 minutes prior to applying the additional glaze to fully brown the ham. I recommend that you adjust your cook time to 10 minutes per pound, based on the size of your ham.
Air Fryer Temperature
Start with 300 degrees. To lock in the brown sugar, honey glaze use 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
What Size Air Fryer I Used
I use the Cosori Air Fryer, 5.8 quart, because I think it's the best air fryer on the market. I love the size and it has amazing cook speed.

Air Fryer Honey Glazed Ham
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup honey
- ¼ cup brown sweetener Brown sugar can be used if preferred.
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 3-4 pound boneless fully cooked ham I used a smoked ham. You can also use a pre-sliced ham if desired. It eliminates the cutting process.
Instructions
- Combine the honey, brown sweetener, and ground cloves in a saucepan on medium-high heat. Stir until the sweetener has dissolved and remove from heat.
- If your ham comes with netting you can leave it on during the initial cooking process. Glaze the ham using a cooking brush with about ¼ of the honey glaze mixture and wrap the hame tightly in foil.
- Place the foil-wrapped ham on the air fryer basket. Air fry for 40 minutes on 300 degrees.
- Open up the air fryer and remove the foil and the netting from around the ham. Glaze the ham again. (I had to warm the glaze for 15 seconds in the microwave). I like to reserve about ¼ of the glaze mixture here to drizzle over the individual ham slices. Feel free to do what works best for you.
- Air fry the ham for an additional 5 minutes on 400 degrees.
- Remove the ham from the air fryer. Allow the ham to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

I made this today for our Easter dinner. I had a 4.5 pound precooked ham so cooked it at 300 degrees for roughly 45 minuted & then increased the heat to 400 degrees & cooked it for another 10 minutes. It was freaking amazing, so moist & delicious!! My husband loved it!! I will definitely be using this recipe again!! Thanks so much

That sounds delish! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This was my first time making a ham ever. Everyone loved it! I messed up by adding all of the glaze where the recipe says add a quarter of it but it was still amazing.

Hello Brandi, Thanks to you I use the heck out of my Air Fryer. I like all of your recipes I have tried so far. Just one thing. I download to Word (2019)and save. Please make the pictures of the recipe easier to copy and paste, so I can see what the finished product is supposed to look like. When I try, all I get is a dark gray block where the picture is supposed to be. So far, I have nearly 17,000 recipes filed and counting. Thank you, Steve Brigham

I can't change anything about the photos. If you take a screenshot it should work just fine, copy that into your document. I'm glad you enjoy the recipes.

Bye honey baked ham! We wanted a small ham but I didn’t think I could get that sweet and delicious taste on my own. But I was wrong! I found this recipe made it and the ham was EVERYTHING!! Everyone raved about it and it was SO easy to make. A ham that made me look like the Thanksgiving queen and I didn’t break a sweat to make it (or even need the oven). Make this the next time you want ham!

Amazing recipe! We made this air fryer glazed ham recipe for Thanksgiving (along with our Turkey) and everyone just wanted to eat the ham it was that good! I loved how easy this was to make, especially when you are making so many other items for a holiday dinner. I also used the leftovers to make a split pea and ham soup. I also love love that this is made in the air fryer so you don't have to take up space in the oven for it. Thank you for another great recipe!

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@staysnatched, tried your ham recipe and cooked my 800 gram ham for 40 minutes at 300 degrees. Put my digital Weber probe in it. My internal temperature was only 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Not sure what it did wrong.
staysnatched says
It sounds like you needed to cook it longer. Every air fryer cooks at varying speeds. Always use a meat thermometer to tell you when it's finished.

Yum! This is such an easy way to make a “fancy” ham! We needed something for a summer lunch and this with a good salad was perfect. I also have to thank Brandi for the Cosori air fryer recommendation. I got it during Prime days and it’s so much better than my old antique air fryer. Thank you for sharing!!

Wonderful! I’m glad you enjoy it.

you gave cooking time on a bonless ham, what about a bone in ham
staysnatched says
I haven't been able to get a bone in to fit. Use the same temperature and watch it.

Made this for Easter and it was wonderful! So easy and nice to use the air fryer instead of heating up my over. Also, thank you for timing per pound changes 🙂

This looks fantastic; however, I don’t want to put tin foil in my air fryer. What else can I do?
staysnatched says
I’m not sure. It will dry out.
