What is Chimichurri Sauce

It’s an uncooked sauce that is typically used for grilled meat. It’s used as both an ingredient and topping for dishes and recipes. The sauce is typically found in Argentinian and Uruguayan cuisines.

How to Make Chimichurri Sauce

  1. Combine fresh cilantro, fresh oregano, garlic,olive oil, vinegar,red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
  2. Use a food processor or blender to pulse.
  3. Serve.

What Does it Taste Like

It’s pretty tangy due to the garlic and vinegar. It reminds me of a vinaigrette with a really “herby” taste due to the fresh herbs used in the recipe.

  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 4 garlic cloves Minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano 2 teaspoons if using dried.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil I use extra virgin.
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Combine the ingredients in a bowl or food processor (for smooth consistency).
  • Stir or pulse until the sauce reaches your desired texture.
