I have outlined a couple of ways you can make these crispy wings! You can bake them in the oven or you can use your air fryer. The key to get them crispy is to use a little bit of oil. I like to use olive oil and I spray the chicken using this oil spray bottle from Amazon.
Dry Rub Ingredients
I like to use McCormick’s Montreal Chicken Seasoning when I make wings. It’s a combination of onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and sage. You can also simply use salt and pepper.
You will also need all-purpose flour and grated parmesan cheese. Baking powder can be substituted for flour.
Parmesan Garlic Sauce Ingredients
How to mix the parmesan garlic sauce is the key component of this recipe. You will need minced garlic, I like to use fresh garlic and my garlic press from Amazon, butter, and olive oil. You can omit the olive oil and simply use all butter if you wish.
Add all of the ingredients to the pan so that they melt and come together. Drizzle the sauce over the chicken after it has baked and the skin has crisped. I like to put the wings back into the oven or the air fryer after this so that it soaks into the skin of the chicken. You can wait to do this step immediately upon serving the wings if you wish.
How to Make Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings
You can bake the chicken wings or fry them using an air fryer. The air fryer is my preferred method. I recommend this Cosori 5.8 quart air fryer from Amazon.
- Add flour, grated parmesan, chicken seasoning, salt and pepper to a large bowl with the chicken wings. You can also use a sealable bag. Ensure the chicken is fully coated.
- For the air fryer, place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket. Spritz the chicken wings with cooking oil. Air fry for 15 minutes on 400 degrees. Open and flip the chicken and cook an additional 5 minutes.
- For baked chicken wings, line a sheet pan with parchment paper and add the wings. Spritz the chicken wings with cooking oil. Bake the wings for 20 minutes and then open and flip the wings. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove the chicken wings from the air fryer or oven and drizzle the wings in the garlic parmesan sauce.
- Return the chicken wings to the air fryer. Air fry for an additional 3-4 minutes on 400 degrees.
- Return the chicken to the oven. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
What Type of Cheese to Use
I find that the bottled grated parmesan works best for this recipe than fresh. I am typically a fresh parmesan only type of person, but fresh parmesan will clump when you melt it. If you aren’t opposed to the clumpy look of cheese on the wings, go for it and use fresh parmesan if you want.
How Many Carbs
Each serving has 11 net carbs. If you substitute all-purpose flour for baking powder, each serving has 1 net carb.

Air Fryer Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry and place it on a large bowl or plastic bag.
- Add the flour, 1/4 cup of grated parmesan, chicken seasoning, salt and pepper to the chicken. Ensure the chicken is fully coated.
- Line the air fryer basket with air fryer parchment paper. Place the chicken on the parchment paper. Spritz the chicken with olive oil.

Notes
- I like to put the wings back into the oven or the air fryer after drizzling the garlic butter parmesan sauce so that it soaks into the skin of the chicken. You can wait to do this step immediately upon serving the wings if you wish.
- If you like a lot of garlic flavor use more fresh garlic or you can add garlic powder to your dry rub of flour and seasoning.
- I find that the bottled grated parmesan works best for this recipe than fresh. I am typically a fresh parmesan only type of person, but fresh parmesan will clump when you melt it. If you aren’t opposed to the clumpy look of cheese on the wings, go for it and use fresh parmesan if you want.
- If you are having trouble spraying the wings with oil because of the flour, you can allow them to cook for about 5 minutes and then spritz the oil. The will prevent the breading from coming off.
- To make this recipe low carb you can swap the all-purpose flour for baking powder. I usually only use a tablespoon of baking powder.
- You can use actual wings (instead of drums and flats) if you wish, you may need to adjust the amount of ingredients needed to fully coat your wings.

Can these be made from frozen wings or should the wings be thawed out first?

You can use frozen wings but you won't be able to add the spices and breading until they have cooked/thawed.

These wings are SO delicious & come together very easily. I made a double batch (cuz hungry kids), and when the first batch came out, my daughter grabbed one to sample & said "MOOOOOOM!"(which in Teen Talk could go either way). I asked "What, good?". She said "They. Are. SO JUICY & seasoned PERFECTLY!" Another picky eater approved Stay Snatched SUCCESS!

Made these for dinner tonight, they were incredible. Easy to make and came out crispy and full of flavor. Everything Brandi drops is amazing, so Iโm not surprised - these will go in the regular rotation for sure.
